It's Beyond 9000! Part One

A modified version of the amazing work already done on this site that I use to convert M&M characters to the old Marvel FASERIP Ability/Power Rank system (and vice versa) quickly and easily. Furthermore, these rules also attempt to provide Strength Benchmarks in order to unify Mutants and Masterminds, Marvel/DC, Wild Cards series, and BtVS characters into one system. Not too ambitious, right?

  • *Extended Rules (Expert Netbooks)

Note the change between Rank 11 Monstrous and Rank 13 Wondrous with 1 extra M&M Power Rank (for a total of 2) required in order to advance a Rank in the Marvel FASERIP system. This is to give a nod to the rules of the original MSHRPG which set Monstrous as the recommended soft cap for starting characters' Powers and Abilities. Also it should just be harder to advance to the levels more appropriate for an intergalactic or transdimensional campaign.

Without the additional Marvel Power Ranks listed in the Expert Netbooks (Fantastic, Spectacular, and Wondrous) treat Monstrous (63) as if taking 10 Power Ranks to reach and Unearthly (88) 15 Power Ranks and then proceed as shown.

This works fine for straight conversions of a Power to a similar one between the two systems but what about something like Strength which can be a combination of an Ability with Super or Enhanced Strength? That will be covered in Part Two.
